are there free,work at home data entry jobs on the net?

I have come across several online ads that promise some good cash for signing up to(simple) data entry jobs.The claims of profit seem quite ludicrous and they all require a sign up fee.I think most of them may not quite deliver what they promise but are there any of them that are free to sign up
