Atherton council to review $1.2 million retaliation claim by ex-finance director

The Atherton City Council may decide Wednesday to pay or reject a $1.2 million claim filed against the town by a former finance director who already received a $225,000 settlement last April for wrongful termination.John Johns, the town's top finance official from 2001 to 2007, filed a claim in January alleging the town retaliated against him when he applied to become its interim city manager.
