Will getting a property and casualty license help get a job in property claims?

I am looking to switch careers. I have seen trainee jobs in property claims and casualty claims. Is it necessary to obtain the property and casualty license in order to get the job? And will it increase my chances of getting an interview if i got the license. I'm in NJ if that helps.
